Whole House Generator Systems – Ultimate Antidote to Blackout Hassles

Residential power interruptions are a problem that can now easily be dealt with using generators designed to power a whole house. Fumbling around the house in the dark during unexpected power outages can now be a thing of the past. Depending on the size of the house, a whole house generator can range from 10,000 watts above but the usual advice is that before you purchase one, a needs assessment should be performed first. You can do this by listing down the appliances you will need to power up and figuring out the aggregate wattage requirements so you can estimate how powerful a generator you will need.

However, this method may have some limitations because it is very difficult to assess the actual wattage requirements of many electrical appliances by just basing it on their published rating because there are other factors that play into it. Hence, many experts just advise people to purchase the most powerful generator that they can afford. As a rule of thumb, a 25,000 watt (25kW) generator should be sufficient enough for most residential applications.

A good residential generator should have the following ideal traits:

Quiet – No equipment equipped with internal combustion engines will truly be noise-free but there are silent generator designs coming out these days that are good at reducing or suppressing the high noise levels that you would expect from generators. This is a pretty important trait in any whole house generator since it is used in residential areas.

Fuel Efficient and Clean Emission – If you care about the environment then this is a pretty important consideration. Many modern generators are designed with this in mind so you would not have a hard time looking for one that is clean and green. Furthermore, some generators that do not use conventional fuels like gasoline and diesel have also been increasing in popularity. Examples of these are the many natural gas and propane generator models that you can find in many stores today.

Durable and Reliable – A good generator should be one that will last long and will stay reliable for many years. A good rule of thumb here is to get the units that make use of engines made by the top engine manufacturers like Honda, Subaru, Generac, etc. Having a good engine is a good base for any generator which is always a plus. There are a lot of low-maintenance models out there and if you have ample budget, you should seek them out.

Looking for a residential power generator capable of powering a whole house may become a difficult thing to do if you do not know what you are looking for. The above traits that I listed should be a good guide to help you do just that.

Yes, I am interested in a whole house generator system that is quiet, right size, low maintenance made by the top makers of these type generators. I would like to know what the prices range from and where you can buy it from.
I also an interested in other silent type units for the home that offer the same thing, fuel efficient and clean emmission, durable, reliable that is solely for your home. A generator that you can at least turn on most of everything you need to turn back on to use.
Therefore I guess a whole house generator would be more suitable but if they make other generators that does the same identical thing please send to me all the information that you have for both and the prices of them that are silent only. Look forward to seeing what you have for me to check out on the internet since you said it is better to buy it that way. In this day and time all of us need to save as much money as we can when it comes to saving money and still be able to buy the best product out there. God Bless!
    Thank you
