The PowerMax Portable Silent Generator

Electrical generators have ceased being just backup power sources in cases of power blackouts or emergencies. Nowadays, power generators have become electricity sources that you can take with you anywhere you go. In many cases, because of the superb quality of power generators coming out these days, people have come to depend on them as a main source of power for mobile homes and RVs.

One of the brands that produce generator engines for portable applications is PowerMax. This brand is a relatively unknown compared to its counterparts Honda, Subaru and Generac. Oddly, I cannot seem to find their official website but if you go around searching for cheap portable generators online, I’m pretty sure you will stumble on some of the many listings that include this family of generators. Take note that this is not the same company that produces the PowerMax line of wind generators. Admittedly, PowerMax is a very commonly used brand name so there might be a little confusion when it comes to researching these brand.

Powermax portable generators are available in the 1000 to 10000 watt (1 to 10 kWs) rating. They are pretty powerful engines that could be used to supply a small camping trip or mobile RV to powering an entire household or business. Their models incorporate features that you would expect from a modern power generator. From power inverter models like the PowerMax Inverter Generator3 (1800 watts or 1.8 kWs) which you can use to power PCs and laptops without fear of frying your gadgets to the 3500 watt models like the PowerMax XP4400 gas-fueled silent power generator which feature a durable and powerful 6.5 HP electric-start engine. This particular model offers an automatic low-oil shut-off function to help protect the engine and a control panel that includes the engine shutoff switch, volt meter, circuit breaker and 120/240 volts power outlets. It is considered a portable silent generator because it incorporates a muffler feature to reduce engine noise and a wheel kit with front handles for easy portability.

And for more power there are 8000 to 10000 watts (8 to 10 kWs) models like the 8500 watts XP8500E powered by a 16 hp air-cooled engine that has the all-important low-oil warning and automatic shutdown features. It also boasts of an electric engine start capability and a control panel similar to the XP4400. It also boasts of a silent 72 dBA decibel noise rating. The 10000 watt version is the PowerMax Duromax XP10000E generator which is also run by a 16 hp OHV 4-cyle engine. Both of these generators have wheel kits with front handles for portability.

Also, one important feature of these generators is that they are CARB compliant so they may be considered environment-friendly.

The Inverter Generator3 is priced at around $1,800, while the XP4400 is around $400. The other two, the XP8500E and the XP10000E can be bought for around $1,100 online.
