Electric Start Generator – Power at the Push of a Button

Everybody will agree that power generators have become an integral part of man’s everyday life and economic progress. It has even found its way into the recreational interests of many people with many generator designs being geared towards outdoor and portable use. One of the things that have endeared the new crop of portable generators to users is because, aside from being more portable and lightweight and fuel efficient, they have also become easier to maintain and, most of all, easier to operate. Take the case of the very user-friendly electric start generator.

Electric start generators are basically generators that have done away with the somewhat difficult pull-start mechanism that was widely used in the earlier days of power generation even for units or models geared towards recreational and portable use. Pull-starting an engine can sometimes be a little tricky especially if the equipment has aged a little and its spark plugs are starting to get a little faulty. While there is really no problem with pull-start power generators (especially if you take care of it and maintain it properly), there is no question that electric starting is more convenient and preferable for many users.

For most electric start generators, the engine is started with a simple push of a button. They are usually designed to work through the use of batteries that provide the power for the starters. No more tugging and pulling and sweating it out— just a simple push and your generator will start churning out the power you need for a significantly enhanced outdoor recreational experience. But this feature isn’t just limited to portable and recreational units because they are actually more useful in the industrial setting. All units that are in the 5000 watts and above range will certainly be packing the electric start feature because of their bigger engines. Pull-starting a 10000 watt generator or higher will not be humanly possible as of the moment because of the hefty size of the engines that those generators are powered with.
